So being in a phase of life where you can't pick just throw on your favourite pair of massimo jeans and a top, pull on your uggs and cycle off to wherever you need to go means you have to start refreshing your wardrobe. I find it practically impossible to wear jeans or any form of long sleeve tops in Singapore due to the heat,so my weekend wardrobe is essentially made of sleeveless tops, casual v neck t shirts, shorts and skirts. But shorts tend to be a bit on the casual side, and the skirts that I have bought that aren't for work tend to be shorter and reminiscent of my teenage years so I've been on a quest to find bottoms that are not figure hugging, of a decent price and cut that I can wear to church or out for a meal with friends. So imagine my delight when I spotted this grey jersey flared skirt in the H&M at Ion.

It's versatile enough to pair of more formal blouses but can also be dressed downed with a plain t shirt, and just make the outfit interesting with accessories. Furthermore I love the pleating detail and the exposed zip. Best of all, it was only $24.50. It's perfect for budget conscious fresh graduates who want to save a significant chunk of your pay for big ticket items (read: cars, homes) and still want to update your wardrobe for a more age appropriate look. 

I can't wait to pair this with some of my existing tops and maybe I might start posting #OOTD. 

I finally got to try out the much talked about Salt Grill and Sky Bar, helmed by the renowned Luke Mangan. We went on for dinner on a wednesday night, and made a reservation for 6.30pm. It might seem rather early for a dinner reservation but this allows one to take in the views and more importantly catch the sunset!

 Dinner was decently priced, mainly due to it being restaurant week.

Service was pretty good, we were well taken care of right from the moment we stepped in, with the waiter getting our drinks for us rather quickly. ( Another perk of picking an earlier time for a dinner reservation!) The bf had the sydney crab omelette while I had the salmon to start with. I would say the food was pretty average, nothing worth gushing about. The omelette was pretty disappointing though, I felt it was slightly overcooked and somehow didn't appreciate the lack of crab in the crab omelette, plus the miso broth that came with it was slightly odd.

For the main course, I chose the grilled spatchcock, mainly due to me choosing to stick to a safe choice. It turned out alright, with the grilled chicken that was rather tender and moist and I loved the accompanying parsnip puree. 

I would say the view would be the only reason I'll return to Salt Grill & Sky Bar. Don't get me wrong the food is not bad and unpalatable, just that for that price you can get a more satisfying dinner elsewhere. Maybe it's just because it's restaurant week hence the rather restrictive menu, so maybe a trip down on a regular night might be worth a shot!
